Call of Duty Modern Warfare - Few Days before Launch

With a few days to go and last minute updates regarding the Call of Duty Modern Warfare release, here is some news on the game just before launch that should interest the fans!

Activison has confirmed that there will be a pre-load period for PC , Xbox One and PS4 before the launch of the game takes place on Friday the 25th October. If you're playing on PC, you can begin pre-installing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare on Battle.net from October 22 at 10 PDT, with the game's "global PC launch time" being 6PM PT/9PM ET on Thursday, October 24 (that's 2AM BST, October 25 in the UK). Console players will also have a window to pre-load, but that may not be on the 22nd and Activision will still have to confirm this.  Just remember to free up at least 175GB of hard drive space as indicated by an article by PC Gamer not to long ago revealing the PC specifications for the game, but console should also be warned for this space requirement. The game will of course not be this size on launch, but will grow in size over the year planned period of content release from Infinity Ward. You have been warned soldiers!

Furthermore, Call of Duty Modern Warfare will be the next big release for Nvidia's RTX Graphics Card owners, displaying the latest advancements with Ray Tracing Technology within the full version of the game release. Unfortunately we did not experience this during the closed or open Beta periods, but it is something to really get excited for as the technology is growing and expanding into more and more titles now.

Blizzard has already had the various digital PC editions available for a while now. I have not seen any Dark Edition pre-orders open for PC in our local South African Market, but I could stand to be corrected.

For console, there will be hard copies available from all popular retailers locally, along with the Dark Edition that should be retailing anywhere from R3800 upwards from selected retailers only. There will also be digital editions available for console players via the respective stores.

If you have not pre-ordered yet, there is still time to get involved and start pre-loading your digital edition of Call of Duty Modern Warfare from today! The game will be launching on Friday 25th October for PC, PS4 and Xbox One. Captain Price is waiting for you!!
