Half-Life Alyx - Announced for March 2020!

Thirteen years since we experienced any form of continuation to one of the most epic cliffhanger moments in a video game, Half Life 2: Episode 2! We are now surprised with Half-Life: Alyx at long last and the announcement trailer has been revealed with a launch date of March 2020.

This game is set between Half-Life 1 and Half-Life 2 and you will be playing as Alyx Vance, who was introduced way back in 2004 Half-Life 2 along with her father Eli Vance. These 2 characters played vital roles in the story along side Dr Gordon Freeman. The fact that we are now blessed with a continuation in the story, from the perspective of Alyx, is really exciting stuff and may open closed doors to the Half-life universe that we did not know about.

By the trailer, we can see that Alyx will be using Gravity Gloves, using them to pick up a pistol from a distance and interact with puzzles in the trailer as well. This is probably just one of may new features that Valve will be introducing to this game. The Crowbar will more than likely not feature, being more the main signature weapon of choice for our main hero, Dr Gordon Freeman.

Furthermore, some system requirements have been released for the game:

Minimum: OS: Windows 10 Processor: Core i5-7500 / Ryzen 5 1600 Memory: 12 GB RAM Graphics: GTX 1060 / RX 580 - 6GB VRAM

This may change of course before release.

Half-Life: Alyx is available for pre-order through Steam for R296.10, currently with 10% discount right now. You can pre-order here.

This is really exciting times for me being a long time Half-Life fan and for all fans out there. Finally Valve has come back with the next installment in the series, which may just answer some of those many questions that have been floating around since 2007.
