The Mortal Kombat series has been upper cutting it's way across platforms for almost three decades. NetherRealm Studio has managed to keep things fresh as well as being able to entertain and shock fans with the next-level and beyond ridiculous fatalities which makes up the unique offerings of this classic fighting game.
During the 2019 GamesBeat Summit panel, Warner Bros Interactive Entertainments President David Haddad, announced that Mortal Kombat 11 is by far their biggest and best launch in the franchises history. This is also a huge accomplishment for developer, NetherRealm Studio, headed by Ed Boon, who have been working on the series for the past 27 years now.
Haddad did comment and say “I couldn’t be more proud of that team and what they’ve done and the innovations they’ve brought to Mortal Kombat.” No specific sales figures were mentioned but apparently Mortal Kombat 11 was the biggest launch in the franchises history within America as well.
So, what does the future hold for Mortal Kombat 11 after this highly successful and record breaking launch? NetherRealm Studio will continue to update the game in the near future, by adding in new characters and Haddad also mentioned that "the team has years of new content planned." Something really positive to look forward being a fan of the series, and by the looks of things, the Mortal Kombat 11 experience is just starting.
